T’ai-Chi Ch’uan is an ancient Chinese martial-art that is often practiced daily for reasons of health and well-being. It is abbreviated as “Tai-Chi” for those interested in it’s benefits for daily living including balance. There are some who have studied this art and others who have always wanted to but never had an opportunity. Waipahu UCC has offered T’ai-Chi classes going back to 1985, taught by Rev. Christopher Eng. On Monday, April 15, 2024, a new class taught by Doug Tom started meeting in the T. Yoshida Community Center from 9:00 a.m.
‘Tai Chi also known as Taijiquan is a Chinese system of exercise or an art of life, the
practice which provides valuable help in extending our life span, eliminating tension and
increasing opportunities of physical, spiritual and mental well-being and equilibrium. Tai
Chi consists of three important components: Structure, Breathing and Self Defense.’
